I have returned back to my city Peshawar in Pakistan after completing my studies in London, UK. It has been a long four years of hard work for PhD, and I am happy that it is finished now. I am now beginning to face hard realities of life in Pakistan, which include shortages, outages and violence.

The military is conducting an operation with the help of heavy guns and may be use of planes at just a few kilometers distance from where I live and work. They have shamelessly demolished houses of so many suspects using dynamite. I don't know what kind of barbaric laws allow this kind of punishment for accused(http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2009\01\04\story_4-1-2009_pg7_5).

The so called civilized world and chief sponsors of war on terror and their free and fair media and human right organizations would of course ignore such extreme human right violations. There are already a million refuges due to military actions, which involved razing tens of villages in tribal areas.

I don't know what definition of loyalty and discipline is used by Pakistan army. They violate constitution of Pakistan all the time, take direct instructions from foreign powers, violate the human rights of their own people, fail to protect their citizens and the country against US/Nato drone attacks and carry out military operations against their own people all the time. At the same time they have failed to liberate Kashmir in 60 years. What is the objective criteria according to which we can call our army most professional, disciplined and loyal force in the world ? Our generals and elite are greedy, self serving power grabbers and nothing more.

Pakistani nation has to work hard to reform our army, police, politics and all the other institutions. Basically, all the institutions are serving vested interests of individuals and foreign powers without having any care for ordinary citizens.
